Previously (2011-2014), I was a Research Fellow at the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), University of Southampton, where I also obtained my PhD in 2011. For my doctoral work I was awarder the Leslie H. Paddle Scholarship in 2009, from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET former IEE). I competed my undergraduate studies at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. My research interests are in the area of information processing in embedded sensor systems focused in medicine and healthcare. In CMIC, I will be working in the CASCADE project, exploring novel image processing methods for deriving skill metrics in minimally invasive surgical procedures. I have also participated in the ARTEMIS-JU "CHIRON" project the EU-FP7 "StrokeBack" project.
